Architect of a certain French “art de vivre” and spirit of luxury, Sybille de Margerie has achieved with panache a plethora of projects around the world. Luxury hotels, boutique-hotels, restaurants and spa, chalets and exclusive residences mark out this passionate path. Major groups and brands such as Mandarin Oriental Group, LVMH Hotel Management, Four Seasons, Hilton, IHG, or Accor, as well as private investors acknowledge her mastery of contemporary codes of the hotel industry and her art of detail.
The studio, headed in pairs with her husband and partner Gilles Riahi, in charge of finance and development, is enriched by the expertise of an international team of 30 employees in their Paris, Florence and Dubai’s offices.
Created in 1989 under the name SM Design, the studio engages with a constantly renewed creativity for ambitious and exclusive projects. From Mandarin Oriental Paris to Cheval Blanc Courchevel, palaces created with impetuous elegance, Sybille de Margerie thinks each of her projects as if it were the first. Colors, culture and creation are her watchwords for a timeless and tailor-made luxury, perfectly interpreted in her projects. Her portfolio welcomes the recent achievements of the very chic Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa in Epernay, Coeur de Megève in the French Alps, Hotel D in Geneva. Projects soon to be revealed will be the sumptuous Royal Atlantis Residences in Dubai, numerous hotels and the interiors of a cruise ship.
